Oftentimes, we don't pay attention to what our children want, because we are so consumed with what we want them to be that we ignore clues that tell us about THEIR talents, THEIR wishes, and THEIR needs. Have you ever seen parents who had dreams, but then gave them up and then decided that they would force their children to live the unfinished dreams of their parents?
Many years ago I met a woman who claimed to be a Christian, who went to church every Sunday, who participated in church functions, and who “lived the life” of a Christian. She was divorced with three children to support and she hired me to be her babysitter.
While at her house one day, I witnessed her on the phone talking to her ex and later talking to somebody at her job. Both times she blatantly lied to the people on the other end of the phone.
